Friedemann Witecka has composed a work for the Bel-Chen mountain range. In the region where the border of Germany meets France and Switzerland; there are five prominent peaks, which are named with the root word, Bel. In pre-Roman times, people made pilgrimages to the these summits. They offered fire to the sun god, Belanus. The peaks form a perfect array of reference points for solar observation. Fifty years ago, a teacher noticed this configuration. The Bochum Observatory confirmed the teacher's discovery in 1979. The Pre-roman people in this place celebrated four significant festivals. Samhain, Beltane, Lugnasad and Imbolc.
